Position Overview

In the Commodities Purchasing division, you will spearhead the formulation of commodity strategies and oversee the overall relationship and performance of the supplier network, enhancing the Purchasing function within your scope to align with the objectives of the Group's strategic vision.

Reporting to the Director of Group Purchasing Commodities, the Global Commodity Manager – Electronics and Components will be accountable for all group manufacturing sites (10 facilities globally) with a total purchasing volume of 200 million euros.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global team of 5 highly skilled direct reports (Commodity Strategy Leaders) and engage a community of purchasing professionals (over 30 individuals) associated with your technology sectors. You will mentor, support, and ensure the growth and motivation of your team members.
  • Guide your team and relevant stakeholders to define and execute ambitious commodity strategies across the segments you manage, with a global perspective.
  • Establish and meet supplier performance targets (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Corporate Social Responsibility, Innovation) across all countries within the Group. You will lead, structure, and critically assess all supplier initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to the roadmap for purchasing excellence, driving significant evolution of core processes, digital transformation, cost management strategies, and enhanced business continuity planning.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Master's degree in purchasing and/or engineering
  • Over 10 years of experience in a global industrial purchasing environment
  • Demonstrated managerial experience

Technical / Professional Skills

  • Proven experience in developing commodity strategies within a cross-functional framework
  • Technical expertise to understand and challenge internal stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of the electronics sector (Electronics Manufacturing Services, Original Design Manufacturers, semiconductor firms)
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
  • Thorough understanding of core purchasing processes
  • Familiarity with purchasing information systems (E-Procurement, Master Data Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, etc.)
  • Fluency in English is essential

  • Proven track record in managing and developing talent
  • Recognized for leadership, autonomy, active listening, and decision-making capabilities
  • Adept at navigating complex situations and communicating effectively
  • Skilled in cultivating a network of high-level business relationships

Additional Information

  • Permanent position with hybrid remote/in-office work options
  • Travel requirements (20 to 30% of the time)
  • Compensation includes a base salary, 13th month salary, bonuses, incentive schemes, and profit-sharing, along with a company savings plan
