About the Role

The AXA Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to support the Group General Counsel in their strategic operations. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading global insurance company and contribute to the success of our Group Legal Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Committee & Board Support: Coordinate the preparation of meetings and draft minutes for the Group Audit Risk & Compliance Committee, as well as provide synthesis and represent the General Counsel at Group Committees as required.
  • Internal & External Events: Provide inputs and assist in the preparation of internal and external meetings, organize and prepare materials, and plan and develop an annual social media campaign for the General Counsel.
  • Legal Professional Family Animation: Coordinate the Legal Leadership Team, including the organization of regular meetings, facilitate meetings and trainings of the Legal Department, and coordinate the Global Legal Family offsite.
  • 2nd & 3rd Lines of Defense: Coordinate all internal processes and procedures for the Legal Department, monitor key performance indicators, and report to the General Counsel and corresponding departments on a regular basis.
  • Global Panel of Legal Firms: Manage the relationship with the 12 international legal firms member of the global panel, coordinate conflict of interest waiver requests, and oversee the panel renewal.
  • Budget & Procurement: Oversee the legal team's budget, coordinate budget preparation, follow-up, and reporting to finance teams, and manage the costs of external service providers.
  • HR: Contribute to human resources management of the Legal Professional Family, champion talent management initiatives, and support the General Counsel in the development and implementation of HR initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience in a multicultural context and good business acumen, with understanding of the strategic issues facing the Group.
  • Driven and highly motivated, with the ability to work outside of their comfort zone and pick up new topics quickly.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to influence stakeholders, with analytical and synthesizing skills, and the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Internal control/risk competencies to implement policies and design processes, with a team player mindset and the ability to influence and federate across departments.
  • Client-driven and pragmatic, with a delivery-focused mindset and strong project management skills.
  • High degree of rigor and reliability, with excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact with a variety of different correspondents in a multi-cultural context.
  • Ability to deal with high volume and highly complex workload, with the ability to prioritize and deal with conflicting priorities daily.
  • Negotiation skills to deal with external vendors, with financial budget process knowledge, and fluency in English (oral and written).
