Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Business Development-France Based to join our BioPharma Business Development team. In this role, you will play a critical part in growing our Biopharma business by developing and maintaining existing customer relationships, building new customer connections, and supporting the development of new accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. You will work closely with drug development companies to build partnerships using ctDNA-based clinical trial services for biomarker discovery and development. You will manage new account onboarding activities, including lead generation, CRM data entry, due diligence, and contract negotiation, while also supporting strategic account initiatives and identifying new connections.
  2. You will guide and educate potential partners, including biomarker researchers, translational medicine scientists, clinical development teams, and global commercial teams. You will be instrumental in identifying and closing new companion diagnostic opportunities as they arise from clinical trial services.
  3. You will collaborate with internal teams, including Research Operations, Alliance Management, Bioinformatics, Quality, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Finance, to address customer needs and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  4. You will partner and problem-solve with people across the research, clinical, and business groups, influencing and shaping opinions to help teams reach decisions and deliver on customers' needs.
  5. In coordination with Biopharma leadership, you will develop a strategy to expand existing transactional business to more fully integrated partnerships across Guardant's suite of capabilities.
  6. You will partner closely with the EU commercial team to leverage synergies between the clinical and biopharma business segments and articulate Guardant's global value proposition to biopharma partners.

Requirements

  1. You have prior business development, sales, and/or consulting experience, with a strong background in biopharma, diagnostics, CROs, or related life sciences areas, and knowledge of sequencing technologies.
  2. You have a strong desire to communicate complex business justifications, develop and close successful cross-functional collaborations, and bring in repeat business from multiple customers.
  3. You have in-depth knowledge of oncology, companion diagnostics, and requirements to support global clinical trials.
  4. You have knowledge of the European clinical diagnostics market, including regulatory and reimbursement landscapes.
  5. You are independent and self-starting, with the ability to proactively chase leads and opportunities while working with the team to build and support processes.
  6. You can build and service multiple opportunities simultaneously, balancing emerging relationships with ongoing ones, addressing needs on time.
  7. You are able to qualify customers' needs and motivations and successfully influence them, with strong contracting and presentation skills, good problem-solving abilities, and a strong analytic skillset.
  8. You are motivated to grow the business, not just your patch, and see the broader team succeed, with the ability to prioritize and focus on the important, not just the urgent.
  9. You have a BA/BS scientific and/or business degree with 8-10 years of experience, with an advanced degree (M.B.A.) highly desired.

Hybrid Work Model

At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found that aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment.
