Context:
The mission of the Business Division (BD), Technology and Technical Support (T&TS), is to deliver sustainable and efficient technology/process solutions, catalysts/adsorbents, and services to our clients across various sectors.
Our focus areas include oil and biomass hydroprocessing and conversion, petrochemical production and purification, gas and water treatment, and CO2 capture.
The T&TS division plays a crucial role in ensuring the performance of Axens' customer units and maintaining our competitive edge in a rapidly evolving market during the energy transition.
The Renewables Technology Engineer position merges technical support for sales, collaboration for client performance, and R&D management to secure long-term competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the Renewables Product Line Technology team, reporting to the Renewables to Liquids Product Line Manager, your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, Gasel, e-Fuel, and BioTfueL technologies.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Crafting technical proposals in response to tenders for new or revamped units and specific catalyst replacement technologies. This involves determining performance metrics, catalyst/biocatalyst quantities, operating conditions, and cycle times for our products or units, along with preliminary equipment sizing and cost calculations.
- Offering technical support to Regional Sales Managers in advocating for our proposals to clients.
- Engaging in the collection, synthesis, and analysis of knowledge related to these processes and catalysts/biocatalysts, collaborating with relevant Technical Assistance personnel.
- Assisting in the updating or development of marketing messages associated with the Business Group's technologies.
- Contributing to the enhancement of the Business Group's offerings by suggesting improvements.
- Promoting the Renewable Axens offerings at public events, including conferences and seminars.
Travel Requirements:
Availability for short-term travel is necessary.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- An engineering background in chemical engineering with a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the energy sector, particularly within engineering departments, technical bid management, process studies, or operations.
- A strong interest in project development phases and collaboration with R&D departments.
- Experience in drafting bids or technical-economic studies is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English is essential; a good command of French is appreciated.
