Your Role

The Procurement Category Manager is tasked with defining and executing procurement strategies within a strategic category.

  • Formulates and executes a comprehensive global strategic sourcing plan across diverse categories to ensure effective portfolio turnover and expenditure analysis.
  • Cultivates business relationships at various levels within key supplier accounts to oversee performance, enhance quality, boost productivity, and maintain service levels.
  • Skillfully negotiates critical commercial and supply agreements for designated raw materials, aligning with Symrise's business objectives and requirements. Identifies and negotiates global supply contracts when suitable.
  • Recognizes, develops, and implements global and regional sourcing strategies aimed at cost reduction, risk mitigation, and improved supply security.
  • Articulates and communicates sourcing strategies for approved alternative suppliers to maximize value at both regional and global levels.
  • Engages a global network to ensure regional implementation and local execution of strategies.
  • Effectively conveys strategies, outcomes, and metrics to leadership teams as necessary.
  • Remains informed about industry trends relevant to assigned categories, providing guidance and recommendations to business units to support margin and revenue growth.
  • Proactively escalates and collaborates with appropriate supplier business leaders to address supply disruptions and constraints.
  • Develops, aligns, and drives strategic initiatives to enhance procurement processes, tools, and efficiencies.
  • Establishes procurement infrastructure in collaboration with functions and supply chain to ensure availability at required quality and cost levels.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemistry, Food Engineering, etc.) or Business.
  • 5-8 years of international procurement experience.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French and/or German is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel (30%).
  • Strong drive for results.
