Job Description

The ideal candidate will oversee the management of the current Business Development team and be responsible for driving the company's R&D opportunities from prospecting to deal closing and transaction management. This includes first introductions and presentations, CDA setup, R&D Proposal drafting, Term Sheet negotiation, and Agreement closing. The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and be part of the Executive Committee.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow the Business Development team
  • Identify, qualify, pursue, and close new opportunities
  • Propose high-value R&D proposals to partners
  • Draft and negotiate term-sheets
  • Manage partnerships
  • Report opportunities and forecast to the CEO
  • Participate in the strategy and day-to-day operations of the company as a member of the Executive Committee
Essential Qualifications
  • 4-8 years of proven business development experience in R&D agreement and license contracting, including at least 2 years of management
  • PhD degree in biological science or related field (muscle area expertise is a plus)
  • Leadership, rigor, results-driven personality
  • Ability to translate partners' needs into meaningful R&D proposals
  • Excellent sales skills, including prospecting, public presentation, and communication
  • Perfect understanding of the business development process in a private R&D environment
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a sense of urgency to complete tasks and deliver results on time
  • Up to 30% overnight travel required, including overseas
  • Native or native-like fluency in English is mandatory
