Position OverviewThe vision of the Reservations Department is to deliver unparalleled excellence and surpass The Plaza's Five Star expectations. We approach every task with professionalism, consistently prioritizing guest satisfaction by anticipating their needs.
Compensation: $35.00 (Hourly Rate)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review daily reservations, including third-party billing, arrival and departure dates, guest profiles, room assignments, special requests, and ensuring exceptional service for VIP guests.
- Process unique billing requests.
- Maintain accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Handle no-show situations and facilitate communication among all relevant departments.
- Conduct test calls to the Global Reservation Center.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to coordinate group bookings.
- Establish group room blocks, manage rooming lists, billing, and special notes, and execute group reservations within the block.
- Monitor room inventory and inform the Reservations Manager of any urgent changes.
- Generate daily reports and complete the daily shift task list.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, travel agents, Global Reservation Center agents, and other stakeholders involved in the reservations process.
- Adhere to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Policies & Procedures.
- Perform office administrative tasks as required.
- A minimum of 1 year as a reservations agent or 2 years in a customer service role.
- Experience in the hospitality industry with a solid understanding of operations.
- Familiarity with Opera is preferred.
- Professional telephone and email etiquette, along with the ability to upsell hotel products and services.
- A willingness to learn, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to collaborate effectively within the reservations team and other departments.
- At least two years of prior luxury hotel experience in a customer service role or a minimum of 1 year in hotel reservations.
- Proficient in Property Management Systems (preferably Opera), Central Reservation Systems, and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
- A positive attitude, motivation, teamwork, strong organizational skills, and efficiency are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a confined office environment, primarily seated at a desk.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Capability to work as a contributing team member as well as independently.
